Vicki is from beautiful Portsmouth, NH and this is her first year with us on the team and her first time running the VT100. YAY!! Let's get to know her better and welcome her to the TEAM!!
So...what's your story?
I am an internal Communications Manager for Santander Bank in Boston. I have a partner who is also an ultra runner (who has completed the VT100) I have four adult children, five grandchildren, and a pit mix named Spot, who is deaf, and the sweetest dog you will ever meet. I also like to swim and run, yes...I do triathlons too! I love craft beer and traveling.
What is your connection to adaptive sports? Why are you choosing to fundraise for Vermont Adaptive?
Running itself is something that I do for me. Raising money for charity brings so much more to the training and the race itself. I have run a number of races for charity in the past.
What is your earliest running memory?
I started running in 1974 when my high school added a girls Cross Country team as a result of Title 9
If you could pick a Hollywood actor to play you in a movie? Who would it be and why?
I really struggled to answer this so I reached out to four friends. Each of them said the same thing....Meryl Streep. When I asked them why...they said because of her confidence and success. I'm not sure I agree.... I think maybe it's her ability to stay active as she ages and her willingness to reinvent herself.
What are your goals for the Vermont 100?
Enjoy every minute of training (hahaha), laugh a lot and make new friends. Oh wait.....and finish the damn race!!!!
