Meet Pam (and Chris)

Pamela Eaton, originally from Missouri, is a breath of fresh air and was an absolute joy to talk with.  This will be her first time running the Vermont 100 (she will be running the 100K) and she is elated.

Her husband, Chris, not only completed both distances of the VT100 (100K and 100 mile) but he was also a 2-time member of the Team Run 2 Empower.  In his first year on the Team, he fundraised a whopping $7,010.  Last year, he raised another $3,040 as part of the Team, leaving his lifetime fundraising total for Vermont Adaptive at over $10,000.  This year, Pam's goal is to exceed Chris's initial fundraising amount of $7,000.

Pam has successfully complete the VT50 several times, including a few years ago while pregnant with their (now) 19-month old son Harley.  Last summer, Harley helped to crew Chris at the VT100, and made friends with other race crews along the way.  He had plenty of practice clapping and cheering for the horses, which he found much more entertaining than runners.

This year it is finally Pam's turn to complete the VT100. She's finally gotten back into the groove of running after having Harley and is ready to take on the 100k. She's ready for a challenge that requires her to make the time and effort to train in order to succeed. Most of all, Pam is ready for Harley to understand that his mom can accomplish the same feats as his dad. And she's eager to have Chris understand the crewing community.

For the same reasons as Chris, Pam decided to join the Team Run 2 Empower and fundraise for Vermont Adaptive.  Skiing is how Pam and Chris met in Colorado before Pam moved to Washington State to attend law school.  During their time skiing out west, Pam first encountered adaptive ski programs.  She immediately noticed the benefit of those programs had an impact on the individuals.  Of course, there's the added accountability that comes with asking folks to financially support your running goals - sometimes that's what's needed to get out the door and log the miles.

We are excited to have Pam as part of the Team Run 2 Empower this year, and can't wait to have Chris (and Harley) supporting her along the way!
